Sorceries in Elden Ring are powerful spells that require a certain amount of the Intelligence Stat to cast. Sorceries cost FP to cast and can be upgraded at a Spell Trainer.

Elden Ring Magic Spells Explained

Magic Spells in Elden Ring include a large variety of Offensive, Defensive, and Supporting effects. In order to cast a Spell, a Magic Staff or Sacred Seal must first be equipped and the Spell must be memorized.

Elden Ring Magic Types

The two main types of Magic Spells are Sorceries which scale with Intelligence and Incantations which scale with Faith. Both types use FP to cast.

How To Cast Sorceries In Elden Ring

Sorceries in Elden Ring require a certain amount of the Intelligence in order to cast. You will also need to equip a Magic Staff and make sure the spell you want to cast is memorized. Sorceries cost FP to cast, so enough FP must also be available to the player.

Where To Find Sorceries In Elden Ring

Sorceries in Elden Ring are most often found from merchants and spell vendors located throughout the world, though they can sometimes be gained from defeated enemies or looted from chests.

How To Memorize Sorceries

Sorceries in Elden Ring can only be memorized while resting at a Site Of Grace. Memorizing a spell will allow players to equip that spell into a spell slot. You can also remove or replace spells while memorizing.

Most Sorceries in Elden Ring will only require 1 slot to memorize, while other more powerful Spells like can require 2.

Charged Spells vs. Regular Casted Spells

Spells in Elden Ring can also be charged and often have entirely new effects compared to their normal cast, not just more damage. For example some charged spells may also knock down mounted enemies or place longer lasting effects in the world. And this is for the same amount of FP as the regular version of the spell.

How To Upgrade Your Spells In Elden Ring

Magic Spells in Elden Ring can be upgraded to greater strength at the Spell Trainer located in Round Table hold.
