Did That Starfield Trailer Really Confirm The Location Of The Elder Scrolls 6?
One of my favorite things that came out of E3 was of course that Epic Starfield Trailer. It’s obvious that Bethesda loves a good teaser trailer because they painstakingly filled this one with an incredible amount of detail – right down to the sandwich with cheese and lettuce (yum)!
But one detail has really stood out to many Bethesda fans, including myself, and that’s a very suspicious looking image etched into the Starfield ship’s flight console. This image looks incredibly like a particular landmass one might find in, oh, I don’t know – TAMRIEL?
Come on, guys! This is not just your average scratch or chipped bit of paint. That’s OBVIOUSLY Hammerfell and HIGHROCK, right? Let’s compared the etched image with an actual map of Tamriel. Image credit to ESO Danny.
So while the landmass forms in the etching are not an exact match, I think many people would agree that there is definite similarity here between what’s on the Starfield ship and what’s a part of Tamriel. Also, keep in mind if this is a true scratched or “etched” image directly cut into the metal console itself it could not be made perfectly to match a map of Tamriel. It’s almost as if some had been doodling a quick sketch or trying to recreate the shape from memory.
So does this mean Starfield is set in the Elder Scrolls Universe thousands of years in the future? Uh, no – probably not. It’s just a fun Easter Egg to keep us thinking about that great Mythical game: The Elder Scrolls 6.
