This weekend the team at Amazon Games will be conducting an Open Beta Test for New World, with the aim of testing server performance and ironing out any log in issues ahead of New World’s full release on September 28th. No purchase or pre-order is necessary to access New World’s Open Beta which starts on September 9th at 7AM PT and extends through until September 12th at 11:59 PM PT.

How To Request Access

With the Open Beta, no pre-purchase of the title is necessary and no keys will be distributed. Instead, the Open Beta will be making use of the Steam Playtest feature, an option for developers that lets them create an open window of access for players to test out a game. To register for the New World Open Beta, players will need to:

1. Open up Steam and access the New World page

2. Find the “Join the New World Open Beta” section, and

3. Click the “Request Access” button

When the Open Beta begins on September 9th, players who have registered in this way should receive an email with further instructions on how to download the client and access the game. This will be a separate client from past iterations of Alpha/Beta access.
