Riposte is an Active Skill available to Rapier users in New World. Riposte belongs to the Grace Tree, which is focused primarily on mobility and avoiding damage. This ability causes you to enter into a defensive stance for 1 second. If struck during this ability, you counter the attacker stunning them briefly for 1.5 seconds. You are briefly invulnerable upon a successful Riposte.

Riposte is Taunt Gem Compatible: If you have a Carnelian gem equiped in your Rapier, this ability causes a 4 second taunt to all foes within 5 meters. Taunt causes monsters to focus only on you.

Riposte has a 20 second cooldown.

Riposte can also be upgraded with three additional passive bonuses: Insult To Injury, Priority, and Lasting Consequence.

Active Skills for the Rapier increase in efficiency with Dexterity as their Primary Attribute and Intelligence as their Secondary Attribute. Investing into either Attribute will increase the damage of your Rapier’s basic attacks and skills, though you will see a greater bonus for investing in Dexterity.
